The ideal location of San Vito del Capo makes day trips to some of the island��s best attractions an easy option. Visit the Zingaro Nature Reserve, the first to be established in Sicily in 1981. For longer day trips, visit the capital Palermo, with its wonderful golden mosaics of Monreale and incredible Teatro Massimo, famous for featuring in one of the scenes in the Godfather. Then perhaps head west to Marsala and see the huge saltpans, before relaxing with an afternoon of wine tasting. Erice and Enna are easily reached too, and are definitely worth a morning visit, both offering a unique insight into more of the island’s fascinating past.
